Position Summary
The individual in this role has strong financial acumen with proven track record in financial management, planning and strategy development and is a hands-on leader, with a deep understanding of HR best practices and the ability to drive HR initiatives that increase engagement and retention across our entire team.
This position works directly with the Business Manager to oversee the financial health of the business. This includes developing financial strategies, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Duties
· Overseeing all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
· Developing and implementing financial strategies to drive growth, profitability, and long-term sustainability.
· Leading the financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
· Collaborating with executive management to guide strategic decision-making with financial insights and analysis.
· Managing relationships with financial institutions, CPAs, and other key stakeholders.
· Ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including tax planning, compliance, and audits.
· Prepare and present detailed financial reports, forecasts, and risk analysis to the executive team and board of directors.
· Monitor cash flow, profitability, and capital expenditures to ensure financial stability.
· Lead financial audits and ensure all financial records and reports are accurate.
· Develop and manage budgets, ensuring alignment with company goals and efficient resource allocation.
· Implement financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks. Challenge Leadership to make decisions based on sound financial data, to reduce costs and meet annual goals set for each department.
· Review all contracts with vendors, sponsors and revenue share partners, ensuring compliance ability and any financial requirements.
· Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Help direct staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.
· Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for Senior Leadership positions.
· Serve as an advisor to Senior Leadership on employee relations, performance management, and workforce challenges
Qualifications
· 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA or MBA a plus.
· Strong hands-on accounting and reporting background.
· Ability to work through detailed financial information with accuracy.
· QuickBooks Desktop, Excel. Square POS a plus
· Prior Human Resources knowledge / experience.
· Strong communication, follow-through and organizational skills.
· Entrepreneurial mind set with a desire to impact business growth.
