Position Overview


We are seeking a high-energy, dynamic Assistant Area Director of Sales to support sales efforts across a portfolio of Full-Service and Select-Service hotels. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated hospitality sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building relationships, and can drive revenue across multiple properties.


The ideal candidate will have proven Full-Service hotel sales experience, strong knowledge of the hospitality industry, and Marriott experience. This individual must be an outgoing, confident, and naturally extroverted sales professional who brings energy and enthusiasm to every interaction. This is an on-site position requiring a strong presence within the hotels and local business community.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Area Director of Sales in developing and executing sales strategies across Full-Service and Select-Service hotels.
  • Drive new business development, account acquisition, group sales, corporate sales, and local market penetration.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate accounts, meeting planners, group clients, community organizations, and key market partners.
  • Conduct proactive outside sales calls, client visits, networking, and community engagement.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities and develop strategies to increase occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and overall hotel revenue.
  • Assist with sales forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and achievement of property and portfolio sales goals.
  • Collaborate closely with General Managers, Revenue Management, Operations, and hotel sales teams to maximize performance.
  • Support the development and execution of annual sales plans and targeted account strategies.
  • Represent the hotels at industry events, trade shows, networking functions, and community activities.
  • Monitor competitive activity and market trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to hotel-level sales teams as needed.
  • Maintain accurate account information, sales activities, and pipeline development within the appropriate CRM systems.
  • Serve as a highly visible ambassador for the hotels and their brands within the local market.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of Sr. Sales Manager or ADOS experience, with significant Full-Service hotel sales experience required.
  • Previous experience working with Marriott-branded hotels strongly preferred.
  • Experience with both Full-Service and Select-Service hotel environments is highly desirable.
  • Proven success in developing new business and exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong understanding of group, corporate, transient, and local market sales.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • High-energy, positive, outgoing, and extroverted personality with a natural ability to engage people.
  • Highly self-motivated, competitive, and results-driven.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable conducting outside sales calls and actively networking within the community.
  • Must be comfortable working on-site and maintaining a highly visible presence at the hotels.
  • Ability to travel between assigned properties and within the local market as needed.
