Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Hotel Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of our hotel facilities, ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facility maintenance, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards in the hospitality industry.

Pay Scale: $26-$29 per Hour

Shift: Evening

Key Responsibilities

• Facility Maintenance and Repairs
• Inspect, repair, and maintain key hotel systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks across all areas of the property, identifying and addressing issues proactively before they impact operations or guest satisfaction.
• Oversee the upkeep and repairs of physical structures, interior and exterior spaces, and equipment, ensuring all areas reflect the hotel's commitment to quality and excellence.

• Compliance and Safety Standards
• Ensure all hotel facilities meet local, state, and federal safety regulations, including building codes, fire safety guidelines, and environmental standards.
• Regularly review and update safety protocols, conducting staff training where required to maintain a safe working and guest environment.

• Operational Efficiency
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize unexpected breakdowns and disruptions.
• Monitor energy consumption and recommend strategies to improve energy efficiency while maintaining guest comfort.

• Team Collaboration and Leadership
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to manage repair projects and procure essential supplies.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the maintenance team, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

• Guest Satisfaction
• Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests raised by guests or staff, ensuring minimal inconvenience.
• Uphold a standard of excellence in maintaining the physical appearance and functionality of hotel facilities to enhance the overall guest experience.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proven experience in facility maintenance, preferably in the hospitality or similar industry (5+ years is preferred).
• Relevant technical certifications in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, or general building maintenance.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, building codes, and energy management practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively under minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills to ensure seamless coordination between departments.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience working within upscale hotels or large-scale hospitality operations.
• Knowledge of advanced energy management systems and eco-friendly building practices.
• Familiarity with computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS).
