What You’ll Do as Kitchen Manager

As a Kitchen Manager in Matthews, you will lead all back-of-house operations and ensure consistency, efficiency, and excellence in every dish served.

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations in a high-volume environment
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing BOH team
  • Maintain food quality, safety, and sanitation standards (FDA/Health Dept)
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and cost controls (COGS & labor)
  • Drive efficiency, ticket times, and kitchen performance metrics
  • Partner with the General Manager on operations, staffing, and profitability
  • Resolve kitchen and guest issues with professionalism and urgency

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of Kitchen Manager or BOH leadership experience
  • Background in full-service or high-volume restaurant environments
  • Strong knowledge of food cost control, labor management, and inventory systems
  • Proven ability to build, train, and retain strong teams
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Culinary degree or certification is a plus (not required)
