What You’ll Do as Kitchen Manager
As a Kitchen Manager in Matthews, you will lead all back-of-house operations and ensure consistency, efficiency, and excellence in every dish served.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations in a high-volume environment
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing BOH team
- Maintain food quality, safety, and sanitation standards (FDA/Health Dept)
- Manage inventory, ordering, and cost controls (COGS & labor)
- Drive efficiency, ticket times, and kitchen performance metrics
- Partner with the General Manager on operations, staffing, and profitability
- Resolve kitchen and guest issues with professionalism and urgency
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5+ years of Kitchen Manager or BOH leadership experience
- Background in full-service or high-volume restaurant environments
- Strong knowledge of food cost control, labor management, and inventory systems
- Proven ability to build, train, and retain strong teams
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Culinary degree or certification is a plus (not required)
