A premier full-service hotel and convention event destination in Winston-Salem is seeking an experienced Director of Catering to lead catering sales performance, drive revenue growth, and elevate the guest event experience.


This is a high-visibility leadership opportunity overseeing one of the region’s most dynamic banquet and event platforms, serving corporate meetings, weddings, galas, association functions, and community events.

Position Overview


The Director of Catering will be responsible for generating catering revenue, leading strategic event sales efforts, managing key client relationships, and overseeing a Catering Sales Manager while partnering closely with the Director of Sales and operational leadership.


This role carries a personal revenue goal and will manage many of the property’s largest and highest-profile events.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive catering sales revenue through proactive selling and relationship management
  • Manage a portfolio of large corporate, social, and citywide events
  • Lead catering strategy, forecasting, and pace reporting
  • Oversee and develop Catering Sales Manager
  • Collaborate with Convention Services, Banquets, Culinary, and Hotel Operations teams
  • Maximize profitability through menu positioning, pricing strategy, and space optimization
  • Maintain strong visibility within the local community and events market
  • Deliver exceptional client service from inquiry through execution
  • Identify new business opportunities and bring fresh ideas to the catering platform

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of catering sales leadership experience in hospitality
  • Full-service hotel, resort, conference center, or upscale event venue background preferred
  • Proven catering revenue production success
  • Experience handling both corporate and social events
  • Strong forecasting, reporting, and organizational skills
  • Leadership experience managing team members preferred
  • Excellent communication and client-facing presence
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Hotel sales systems experience such as CI/TY, Delphi, or similar preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $90,000 to $95,000 (based on experience)
