About the Role

As Sous Chef, you will support the Executive Chef in leading all back-of-house operations while maintaining the highest standards in food quality, cleanliness, organization, and team development.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who leads by example and thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Executive Chef in all kitchen operations
  • Lead and develop BOH team members
  • Maintain high standards for food quality and presentation
  • Manage kitchen operations and food production
  • Coach, train, and mentor culinary team members
  • Assist with interviewing and hiring BOH staff
  • Create BOH schedules and maintain staffing levels
  • Oversee ordering, receiving, and inventory management
  • Conduct daily and bi-weekly inventory counts
  • Ensure proper butchering, portioning, and prep standards
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized kitchen environment
  • Control food cost and labor cost execution
  • Ensure safety and sanitation procedures are followed at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of full-service restaurant management experience
  • Strong scratch kitchen background
  • Experience with butchering and portion control
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead calmly under pressure
  • Hands-on leadership style
  • Passion for hospitality and culinary excellence
  • Experience with scheduling, inventory, and purchasing
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
  • High standards for cleanliness, organization, and execution

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, kneel, lift, push, and pull throughout shifts
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
