Kitchen Manager Responsibilities

As the Kitchen Manager, you will oversee all back-of-house operations and ensure excellence in food quality, kitchen efficiency, sanitation, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead daily BOH operations in a high-volume full-service restaurant
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop kitchen team members
  • Maintain high food quality and presentation standards
  • Control food cost, labor cost, inventory, and waste
  • Manage ordering, prep, scheduling, and kitchen systems
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Drive ticket times, execution, and kitchen efficiency
  • Partner closely with restaurant leadership to improve overall operations
  • Create a positive, accountable, high-performance kitchen culture

What We’re Looking For

Qualified Candidates Will Have:

  • 3–5+ years of Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or BOH management experience
  • Experience in full-service or high-volume restaurant operations
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Food cost control
    • Inventory management
    • Labor management
    • Kitchen systems & execution
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

A culinary degree or certification is a plus — but not required.
