About the Role
As Sous Chef, you will support the Executive Chef in leading all back-of-house operations while maintaining the highest standards in food quality, cleanliness, organization, and team development.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who leads by example and thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Chef in all kitchen operations
- Lead and develop BOH team members
- Maintain high standards for food quality and presentation
- Manage kitchen operations and food production
- Coach, train, and mentor culinary team members
- Assist with interviewing and hiring BOH staff
- Create BOH schedules and maintain staffing levels
- Oversee ordering, receiving, and inventory management
- Conduct daily and bi-weekly inventory counts
- Ensure proper butchering, portioning, and prep standards
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized kitchen environment
- Control food cost and labor cost execution
- Ensure safety and sanitation procedures are followed at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of full-service restaurant management experience
- Strong scratch kitchen background
- Experience with butchering and portion control
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lead calmly under pressure
- Hands-on leadership style
- Passion for hospitality and culinary excellence
- Experience with scheduling, inventory, and purchasing
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- High standards for cleanliness, organization, and execution
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Ability to bend, kneel, lift, push, and pull throughout shifts
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
