Kitchen Manager Responsibilities
As the Kitchen Manager, you will oversee all back-of-house operations and ensure excellence in food quality, execution, sanitation, and kitchen leadership.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead daily kitchen operations in a high-volume upscale casual restaurant
- Coach, train, and develop back-of-house team members
- Maintain high food quality and presentation standards
- Manage food cost, labor cost, inventory, and ordering systems
- Drive ticket times, execution, and kitchen efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Partner closely with FOH leadership to ensure smooth service operations
- Assist with scheduling, staffing, prep systems, and kitchen organization
- Build a positive, accountable, high-performance kitchen culture
What We’re Looking For
Qualified Candidates Will Have:
- 3–5+ years of Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or BOH leadership experience
- Strong background in full-service or upscale casual dining
- High-volume restaurant experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of:
- Food cost control
- Inventory management
- Labor management
- Kitchen systems and execution
- Proven ability to lead and develop kitchen teams
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Scratch kitchen experience is highly preferred.
