Position Overview
As Restaurant General Manager, you will have full P&L responsibility for a busy full-service restaurant featuring an active bar program. You’ll oversee every aspect of operations—from front-of-house service and bar management to back-of-house execution—while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and hospitality. Key Responsibilities
- Lead all daily operations of a full-service restaurant and bar, ensuring seamless coordination between front-of-house, bar, and kitchen teams.
- Recruit, train, develop, and retain top talent across all positions (managers, servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff).
- Drive revenue growth through outstanding guest service, creative bar programming, special events, and local marketing tailored to the Livermore and Tri-Valley markets.
- Manage cost controls, inventory, labor scheduling, and P&L statements to hit or exceed financial targets.
- Uphold rigorous standards for food safety, liquor compliance (California ABC regulations), and workplace safety.
- Foster a positive, high-energy culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and guest-first service.
- Partner with ownership and executive leadership to implement operational improvements and menu/beverage innovations.
- Handle guest relations at the highest level, turning every visit into a memorable experience that drives repeat business and positive reviews.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience as a General Manager (or equivalent multi-unit leadership) in a full-service restaurant with bar service (upscale casual, contemporary American, or similar concept preferred).
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales, profit, and guest-satisfaction goals in a high-volume environment.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L, food/beverage costs, and labor percentages.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-development skills with a track record of low turnover.
- Thorough knowledge of California labor laws, ServSafe/ food-handler certifications, and ABC liquor regulations.
- Proficiency with restaurant POS systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
- Passion for hospitality, bar beverage programs, and creating memorable dining experiences.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (this is a career-minded role, not a 9-to-5).
