Job Description
Traveling Production Manager – National Events
Home base: North Carolina or Missouri, with practical access to a commercial airport
Target base salary: Approximately $60,000 plus performance incentive
Travel: Approximately 35–40 weekends per year
A national event-production and audiovisual services company is seeking Traveling Production Managers to coordinate corporate programs across the United States. You will connect the client, venue, equipment deliveries, technical crew, local labor and production schedule. This opportunity suits someone who enjoys substantial travel, takes ownership of live-event logistics and can maintain client confidence while solving problems.
What You Will Do
- Coordinate equipment trucks, deliveries, local labor, load-in, production preparation, strike and load-out.
- Confirm equipment and resources against the production plan and work with the Lead Technician to resolve missing items or technical concerns.
- Direct and coordinate technicians, vendors, local crews, venue teams and other event resources.
- Maintain timelines and adjust plans as client or operational needs change.
- Serve as the primary on-site client contact, communicate clearly and keep stakeholders informed.
- Document added equipment, services and client requests so scope changes and final billing are accurate.
- Participate in physical event-production tasks when needed and support orderly transitions to the next assignment.
Required Qualifications
- Meaningful live-event, venue, hospitality-event, production or event-logistics experience with responsibility for coordinating people, equipment and delivery.
- Strong client communication, practical judgment and ability to stay composed under pressure.
- Ability to recognize problems, organize solutions and follow through independently while escalating appropriately.
- Comfort working with unfamiliar crews and technical professionals in different markets.
- Working familiarity with event-production/AV concepts, or relevant event-logistics experience and the ability to learn common equipment and production processes.
- Ability and clear willingness to sustain approximately 35–40 weekends of travel each year, often spanning Thursday through Monday.
- A North Carolina or Missouri home base with airport access that supports frequent national travel.
Preferred Experience
- Event Manager, Venue Manager, Production Coordinator, Assistant Production Manager, Show Services, Event Operations or Event Logistics responsibility.
- Conference services, hotel banquet/event operations, catering events, event rentals/staging or touring production.
- AV supervision or senior technical experience paired with strong client-service and coordination skills.
- Load-in/load-out, crew calls, vendors, equipment lists and documentation of changes.
- Advanced AV engineering or a current Production Manager title is helpful rather than required; experienced Lead Technicians support technical execution.
Travel and Compensation
- Approximately 35–40 weekends of travel annually. A common assignment involves Thursday travel, Friday preparation, weekend execution, strike and return travel Sunday or Monday; actual schedules vary.
- Target base salary is approximately $60,000 plus a performance incentive opportunity.
- Incentive terms, benefits and other package details will be discussed during the hiring process.
- Qualified candidates should be comfortable taking ownership of logistics, client service and event delivery in a travel-intensive role.
Please submit your resume for confidential consideration. Company information will be shared with qualified candidates during the hiring process.
